Established in 1997, BedRock Mining Support is the leading supplier of underground mine support to the South African gold and platinum mines. These products vary from yielding and non-yielding elongates to manufactured timber products such as composites, mat packs, chocks and gum planks.  As part of TWK Agri, BedRock forms part of a fully integrated timber supply chain, optimised from seedling to stope, with products manufactured in TWK Agri’s three mining timber mills. With the backing of TWK’s Forestry division, which currently owns and operates 22,000 hectares of Eucalyptus plantations, BedRock has the availability of resource to sustainably support the mining industry now and in the future.

 

BedRock operates two service centres in Westonaria and Welkom where products destined for the gold mining markets are treated with fire retardant. BedRock also operates an expansive service centre near Rustenburg to service the PGM mines on the western limb of the Bushveld Complex, and where a comprehensive suite of value-adding activities take place.
